Well to my surprize this was way easier than I thought.  orb.com! Yup they have a built in cell phone portal. That supports rtsp transcoding. It will accept live streams from the web or my tv tuner. Also supports streaming video from my webcam. So the next project will be to run a usb webcam to the dogs area, then I can check on the dogs whenever I wish from my phone. Awesome!

Some issues I had… When I first tried to go to mycast.orb.com from my phones browser I would end up with a blank page. I had to hit stop loading page at the exact time to get a partially loaded page then I could get into the settings and set the link speed to 200k rather than dynamic.  After that I had to disable the icons which I would recomend doing anyway. Fast page loads are great.  So there you have it I can now watch tv, movies, listen to music, check on the dogs. All from my cell phone.

btw this is the 4th time I’ve used orb to achieve some (at the time) impossible thing. Damn thing just doesn’t stop kickin ass.
